About me

Jason Shimp worked with the Colorado State Patrol in Durango, Fort Collins, and Steamboat Springs for ten years. Jason was promoted to corporal and assigned to the Steamboat Springs station in 2016.

Jason is a DRE and an FTO. He teaches SFSTs, DTAC, and PILLAR (Partners In Lifelong Learning And Readiness) (PILLAR). He oversees PILLAR in many schools in Northwest Colorado.

Jason studied architecture at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, before joining the police. His 13 years as an architect included 27 building construction projects ranging from residential to commercial to mixed-use. Jason is a certified architect who passed the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards exam in 2005.
